Promoting the well-being of Canada’s veterans and their families

VETERANS WATCH (VW) is a multidisciplinary team of veterans, health practitioners, researchers, and consultants who are dedicated to improving the well-being of Canada’s veterans and their families.
We understand that, unlike any other occupation, enlistment in military service requires a relinquishing of the individualism of civilian society, and embracing of the interdependence among people characteristic of military culture, which is structured around the need to train people for violence and aggression under command.
Upon release, military members and their families must return to civilian society, and doing so is a process. Some veterans, spouses, and children reintegrate seamlessly, while too many others experience major struggles. Programs are currently available to assist disabled veterans with transition needs specific to their disabilities. But no programs exist to help veterans and their families to rehabilitate culturally to civilian life.
Through its political leadership and its educational resources, Veterans Watch is taking important steps toward addressing this vacuum. We invite you to learn more by clicking on the links Our Purposes and Roles, Oversight, Rehabilitation, Our Team, and Resources.
